Trailing by 12 points in the fourth quarter on Friday night, the Heritage football team battled back to beat Liberty 58-55 at the Ford Center.

Cameron Rose, who rushed 25 times for 172 yards and three touchdowns, scored on an 8-yard touchdown run with 7:18 left to pull Heritage within 55-50. After the Heritage defense stopped Liberty, Heritage again drove down the field and Rose scored on a 1-yard run to put the Coyotes ahead for good. A two-point conversion made it 58-55 with 2:10 left.

Liberty had a first-and-goal on its final drive, but the Heritage defense again played big -- intercepting a pass to clinch the victory.

Easton Swetnam threw three touchdown passes for Heritage (3-5, 2-3 in District 5-5A Division I). Kyle Bradford caught two of the touchdown passes and finished with eight catches for 167 yards.

Heritage next plays Little Elm on Thursday at 7 p.m. at FISD Memorial Stadium.
