FISD Wrestlers Win Titles at Heritage's Coyote Classic

Frisco ISD wrestlers performed well on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the 10th Annual Coyote Classic at Heritage High School. Five FISD high schools finished in the top 10 of the boys and girls standings, while five wrestlers earned individual titles.

Liberty finished third in the boys standings, followed by Lone Star (seventh) and Heritage (eighth). In the girls team standings, Liberty was fourth and Independence was fifth.

The boys individual champions from FISD were Lone Star’s La’Stot Pleasant (132-pound weight class), Liberty’s Prince Ugoh (220) and Independence’s Richard Madrid (285). The boys who finished second in their weight classes were Liberty’s Tristan Seales (145) and Heritage’s Dylan Jacinto (182).

The FISD girls individual champions were Independence’s Tabitha Wood (119) and Liberty’s Princess Egbuchunam (165). The wrestlers who finished as runners-up in their class included Liberty’s Emily Corona (128) and Karina Quiros (138), as well as Heritage’s Cassidy Jacinto.

The District 8-5A Wrestling Tournament, which will include all 10 FISD high schools along with The Colony and Whitesboro, will be Feb. 7-8 at The Colony High School.
